Application Process
This scholarship was started by the family and friends of Ken Healy in remembrance of him and to keep his legacy alive. Ken was a parent to four Dover students. He was very involved in Dover Athletics as a coach, volunteer, and cheering parent. He coached Dover Baseball for many years, Dover Soccer Association and Dover Football League. Sports were a big part of Ken’s life, having been a three sport athlete in high school and continuing at Plymouth State University. He had a true love of the game, promoting sportsmanship and admiration for athletes of all levels.
How to Apply
Applications can either be completed using the fillable pdf format, or printed out, completed, and then scanned. ALL required attachments, including letters of recommendation, must be submitted at the same time your application is submitted. DO NOT send materials separately. Your complete application, including all attachments, can be submitted electronically using the form to the right. Deadline for filing is April 12, 2024. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Your application will be reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship Criteria
The recipient(s) of the Ken Healy Memorial Scholarship will have attended DHS for 3+ years, have a GPA of 2.75 or higher, and will have participated in athletics at DHS and/or have community service or work experience involving athletic programs of any level, mentoring programs, Special Olympics, unified or student led programs, etc. The recipient plans to attend a 2 or 4 year college program, job training or other programming after high school. Three Scholarships will be awarded to a student participating on a boys, a girls, and a unified athletic team.
A letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, mentor or supervisor is strongly encouraged.
